Bobby Moynihan is in the new SNL documentary (airing April 15)

New Star-Studded "Saturday Night Live" Documentary Debuts April 15 on NBC.

NBC Presents a Brand New Behind-The-Scenes "SNL" Special: "Saturday Night Live In The 2000s: Time And Again" On Thursday, April 15 (9:00 - 11:00 PM ET/PT)

All-Star Line-Up Including Jimmy Fallon, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Tracy Morgan and Justin Timberlake Telling Tales From SNL's Recent Past

NEW YORK - March 24, 2010 - Continuing to tell the story of "Saturday Night Live," NBC presents a new installment of the compelling behind-the-scenes documentary series chronicling the highs and lows of the iconic comedy show. "Saturday Night Live in the 2000s: Time And Again" airs on Thursday, April 15 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Following up on his Emmy-nominated and critically acclaimed documentaries "Live From New York: The First 5 Years of Saturday Night Live," "Saturday Night Live in the '80s: Lost and Found," and "Saturday Night Live in the '90s: Pop Culture Nation" writer, director, producer Kenneth Bowser (Emmy nominee for "John Ford/John Wayne; The Filmmaker & The Legend," "Easy Riders & Raging Bulls") has created a film that looks at the stratospheric reach of the show in the 2000s.

The decade saw "SNL" going from being named "a national institution" by the prestigious Peabody Awards to achieving record-shattering ratings, grabbing countless headlines and primetime exposure during the political elections.

Among the new and candid interviews are creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels, and many of the stars of the show including: Fred Armisen, Rachel Dratch, Abby Elliott, Jimmy Fallon, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Will Forte, Bill Hader, Darrell Hammond, Chris Kattan, Seth Meyers, Tracy Morgan, Bobby Moynihan, Chris Parnell, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Andy Samberg, Horatio Sanz, Molly Shannon, Jason Sudeikis, Kenan Thompson, and Kristen Wiig. In addition, some of the most memorable hosts in SNL history - Alec Baldwin, Christopher Walken, Senator John McCain, and Justin Timberlake also offer insights.

"This special features the funniest clips and most dramatic moments of the decade on SNL, along with new interviews with the biggest stars of comedy," said Rick Ludwin, Executive Vice President of Late Night and Prime Time Series, "Don't miss it!"

Transcending the traditional retrospective clip show, this film is jam-packed with unforgettable moments from the decade. Between political debates, elections, and the tragedy of September 11th, SNL gave its viewers laughs during their darkest times. Along with the popularity of digital shorts like "Lazy Sunday" and "D**k In A Box," the women of SNL, "Weekend Update" history, and special appearances from political candidates, the film will explore these events with a behind-the-scenes look at how the decade affected the show and its cast. These are the stories fans haven't heard - all presented in the same funny, fast-paced, nostalgic format that earned "The First 5 Years" an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Non-Fiction Special. The stories from the 2000s are framed and propelled by the best musical acts of the decade, including: Alicia Keys, Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Avril Lavigne, Black Eyed Peas, Carrie Underwood, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Gwen Stefani, Linkin Park, Ludacris, My Morning Jacket, Paul Simon, The Killers, and Wilco.

Andy Samberg actually throws it on the ground

Hahahaha. Nice one, Andy! And Bobby, your facial expressions are still awesome!

Was Bobby Moynihan treated better than Casey Wilson?

James Franco's SNL documentary has people wondering...

The cronyism of the SNL institution is reflected in the film itself--Franco friends Forte and Hader are featured prominently, while cast members who fall out of the 30-something white dude demographic like Kristen Wiig and Kenan Thompson are barely seen outside of the context of sketches. Then a recent addition to the cast and now no longer on the show, Casey Wilson is seen struggling to get material on air, while even newer cast member Bobby Moynihan is written into sketches by Hader and Fred Armisen. Franco himself is caught on camera, smoking, chatting with cast and crew, beginning sentences with the phrase, "When I hosted the show..." apparently without irony.

Ken liked Bobby's Twilight Zone skit

Here's a review of my favorite Moynihan skit from this week...

There was a parody of “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet,” the 1961 Twilight Zone episode that starred William Shatner as an airline passenger who sees a gremlin on the wing of the plane. Law played the passenger (excellent, though he didn’t do a Shatner impersonation) and Moynihan was the gremlin. It was very old-school SNL — you could almost imagine John Belushi as the gremlin, and almost sweet in its commitment to black-and-white-TV-show conventions.

As for Pearl Jam: Eddie Vedder sounded terrific twice, on both the ballad and the rocker. The band also made a cameo in the Twilight Zone sketch that almost lifted the bit into hilarity. Well done, gentlemen.

Hahahaha.

I agree with this review. I think this was the funniest skit of the night, and Bobby nailed it! It truly did smack of something that Belushi and Aykroyd would have come up with.

Bobby Moynihan is a Thing in The Twilight Zone (SNL skit)

Sketch: The Twilight Zone

There is something on the wing.

Jude Law ... husband
Pearl Jam
Abby Elliott ... wife
Bill Hader ... Rod Serling
Bobby Moynihan ... thing
Nasim Pedrad ... stewardess
Jenny Slate ... thing

This is Bill Hader's first run at Rod Sterling from Twilight Zone.

Don't give him any originality points, though. Rod was lampooned starting in the second season of SNL by Dan Aykroyd. Dan ended up lampooning Twilight Zone on 11.20.1976, 02.18.1978, and 02.17.1979. Harry Shearer did a Rod impression in 1980, Brian Doyle-Murray did it twice in 1982, Norm MacDonald in 1997, and Matt Dillon did a Rod impression on 03.11.2006, in a Vincent Price special (where Hader was playing Vincent).

Still a good idea, though.

Bobby Moynihan in Ravish

Show: Talk Show with Ravish

A four-time spelling bee champion has a talk show.

Jude Law
Fred Armisen ... father
Bobby Moynihan ... uncle
Nasim Pedrad ... Ravish

Bobby plays the uncle and supports Nasim's new skit! Yay for Nasim for getting another original character in there!

Enjoy!

Bobby Moynihan is Nathan Lane in Hamlet Auditions

Sketch: Hamlet Audition

The competition is fierce.

Jude Law
Bill Hader ... Al Pacino
Bobby Moynihan ... Nathan Lane
Michael Patrick O'Brien ... actor
Nasim Pedrad ... secretary
Andy Samberg ... Nicolas Cage
Jason Sudeikis ... Sam Elliott

Jude just did a run as Hamlet, and so Hamlet gets a monologue and this audition skit. Funny stuff.

This is Bobby's third Nathan Lane impression. Bobby is the only SNL cast member to do a Nathan Lane impression. (And it's hilarious!)

I love Andy's Nicholas Cage and Bobby's Nathan Lane! Plus Al Pacino and Sam Elliott? This is too perfect!

Enjoy!

Bobby Moynihan is Eric Massa (Cold Open)

Cold Opening: Massa Exit Interview

The former Congressman comments on tickling and life in the military.

Will Forte ... staffer
Bill Hader ... staffer
Bill Hader ... announcer (voice)
Bobby Moynihan ... Eric Massa
Andy Samberg ... staffer
Jason Sudeikis ... staffer
Kristen Wiig ... employer

Bobby is finally the main character in a cold opening! And it's built around his impression. That's funny. Bobby's becoming more famous for his impressions and not his characters. I wouldn't have figured that, seeing how he didn't do impressions before SNL, but he had some great characters.

This was Bobby Moynihan's first solo "Live from New York..." Congrats Bobby! We know how much it means to you to be a part of SNL's rich history!

Bobby Moynihan - in Boombox

Boombox (ft. Julian Casablancas)

Finally. Over a year later. This was worth the wait!

The video for Boombox is here! From The Lonely Island's debut album "INCREDIBAD", in stores now!

Directed By Kiv

That's Akiva getting picked up by (and dancing with) the cops.

I love the fingerless gloves shot and some hilarious dancing here! Fred Armisen does the Bart Man!

Bobby Moynihan steals from the old people!! (At least he doesn't make them run a sweat shop like Ben Stiller did in Happy Gilmore.)

I like how Julian breaks the vase on "not a toy!"

This was a good choice. =^)

Show: Today

Zach Galifianakis
Abby Elliott ... Sara Haines
Bobby Moynihan ... security guard
Jenny Slate ... Hoda Kotb
Kristen Wiig ... Kathie Lee Gifford

Hoda and Kathie Lee welcome an unexpected guest.

Jenny Slate's second run as Hoda. How'd she do?

Abby gets to try out a new impression.

I like Bobby as a security guard. He should continue that role.

Bobby Moynihan makes out with Bill Hader (Kissing Family)

Kissing Family

Sketch: Affectionate Family

Zach Galifianakis ... Father Yankovich
Fred Armisen ... Mr. Vogelcheck
Abby Elliott ... mourner
Will Forte ... grandfather
Bill Hader ... Dwayne Vogelcheck
Bobby Moynihan ... Ronnie
Jenny Slate ... Shelley
Kenan Thompson ... pastor
Kristen Wiig ... Mrs. Vogelcheck

Grief can bring a family closer.

Jenny looks good here. It's fun just to watch her facial expressions during the kissing.

Bobby finally gets to kiss Jenny at the end. Not quite like Fred's passionate kiss to Will's corpse, though.

This is Bobby's first skit with the Vogelchecks.

Bobby Moynihan is Jefferson in Telemundo Winter Olympics

Telemundo Winter Olympics

A chilly take on the Winter Games.

Jennifer Lopez ... Maria Apaniz
Fred Armisen ... Jorge Cortez
Bill Hader ... Hector Lima
Steve Higgins ... announcer (voice)
Bobby Moynihan ... Jefferson
Andy Samberg ... Ken Franzen
Jenny Slate ... Rosa Martinez

Bobby is funny as the boy (similar to his Vinnie's son character), but I would have liked to see Bobby use the pie or something else to show off the character a little more.

Enjoy!

New Car Horns

Custom car horns for all your car horn needs.

Commercial: Car Horns And More

Jennifer Lopez ... Kiki Jean Shanhouse
Fred Armisen ... customer
Abby Elliott ... customer
Bobby Moynihan ... friend
Nasim Pedrad ... friend
Jenny Slate ... Tina Tina Shanhouse

Cute. A little too similar to the doorbell one, but this sequel's still funny. Bobby walks out on a girl (in traffic) and is in the army in this commercial.

Enjoy!
